- Adult new books, all videos and DVDs -- 2 weeks
- Other materials -- 4 weeks
Check Out Limits
- Any combination of 50 items (5 of which may
be holiday items) may be on loan at one time
Renewals
- Items may be renewed two times, if not on hold by another customer. Interlibrary Loaned items usually cannot be renewed -- check with your library if you wish to renew an ILL.
Request Limits
- 25 items may be on request at one time
Overdue Materials
- Overdue fines: 15¢ per day per item to
a maximum of $5.00 per item
- Overdue reminder notices: sent on the 8th
and 22nd day overdue; the second notice is a
bill for the material
- Privileges of customers owing $15.00
or more are suspended until payment is made
- Collection agency: accounts 60 days overdue
and totaling $25.00 or more will be referred
to a collection agency
- Young people under the age of 18 can read,
or be read to, to reduce fines, up to $5.00

Miscellaneous Fees
- Requests for materials: there is no charge to place requests/holds for library materials
- Interlibrary loans: there is no charge to place an interlibrary loan request; however, any fees charged by the lending library will be passed on to the requesting customer
- Photocopying: public photocopy machines are available in each branch; copies are 10¢ per page
- Printing:1st 10 pages at no charge; 10¢ for each additional page
Non-resident library card
- City of Spokane residents may obtain a non-resident
library card at no cost through a reciprocal
agreement between the District and Spokane Public
Library. All services are available except interlibrary
loan and remote access to licensed databases including digital downloads.
- Others living outside the District may obtain
a library card with payment of an $100 per family
annual fee, which may be paid quarterly. Paid
non-resident cardholders are afforded the same
library privileges as District residents, except
reciprocal use of Spokane Public Library.
