This position provides direct circulation services, readers’ advising and information services to members. May instruct members in basic use of library equipment and technology. May perform storytimes in a community library once a month and/or on a fill-in basis, as needed. May oversee circulation services in the absence of a library supervisor, library operations assistant or library operations manager. May assist in training new staff in public services procedures.

20 hours per week
Tuesday, 2:00-6:00 p.m.
Thursday, 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Friday, 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
30 hours per week
Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work other hours or at other locations as needed.
$14.41 - $18.01 per hour in six steps, plus pro rata benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, Employee Assistance Program; 11 paid holidays; paid sick and vacation leave and participation in the Public Employees Retirement System.
Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Three years direct customer service experience required; one year direct customer service experience in a library setting preferred.
Read and use English and understand numbers; working knowledge of personal computers, office software, database software and the Internet; ILS experience preferred; OR any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience that assures satisfactory performance of essential job functions.
