This professional position supervises day-to-day operations of Otis Orchards (OT) and Fairfield (FF) libraries. Supervise Public Services Associates, Library Assistants, and Library Pages. Conduct library programs and provide direct service to library members. Promote the mission and objectives of the District through effective community relations. Maintain involvement in the community by participating in community events and civic and community organizations in a manner that enhances the role of the library within the community. Assist librarians in developing effective community relations that leverage District programs and services to meet community goals.

The current work schedule is at three library locations
Tuesday: 10:00am - 8:00pm @ FF
Wednesday: 10:00am - 8:00pm @ OT
Thursday: 9:00am - 6:00pm @ FF/OT (alternate weeks)
Friday: 11:00am – 6:00pm @ Spokane Valley
Saturday: 9:00am – 6:00pm @ OT
The ideal candidate will have flexibility to work other hours or at other locations as needed.
$18.58 - $23.22 per hour in six steps, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance; Employee Assistance Program, 11 paid holidays, paid sick and annual leave, participation in the Public Employees Retirement Program.
Bachelor’s degree required. Three years recent direct customer service experience required, including two years recent direct customer service experience in a library setting. Two years recent supervisory experience required. (Three years recent work experience as a Public
Services Associate or Public Services Specialist with Spokane County Library District may substitute for the above requirements.) Working knowledge of personal computers, office software, database software and Internet; ILS experience preferred.
