With the new LEGO movie coming out this Friday (yaaaaay!), there’s no better time to take your LEGO expertise to the next level. We’ve been busy getting in a lot of great new LEGO books so come to your favorite SCLD library and see what we’ve got for you!

The LEGO Adventure Book by Megan Rothrock shows you how to make cars, castles, dinosaurs, a laboratory, and even a coffee shop. The LEGO Adventure Book Volume 2 continues the fun with diagrams and pictures for making spaceships, pirates, and more.

Explore the final frontier in LEGO Space: Building the Future by Peter Reid where you’ll navigate the LEGO universe and learn how to build your own federation ships, rockets, astronauts… and even space villains!!!

The LEGO Play Book by Daniel Lipkowitz includes more than 500 ideas for models and ideas by LEGO fans just like you! Discover new construction tricks and techniques to impress your friends and take on timed LEGO Challenge builds. There’s so much here we promise you’ll never get bored!

Did you know that minifigures have been around since 1978? Me either! Did you know that Hobbit, Yoda, and Spongebob minifigs come equipped with shorter legs, or that a LEGO astronaut minifig has actually traveled into real live space? LEGO Minifigure Year by Year: A Visual History by Gregory Farshtey is an outstanding compendium of LEGO facts like these and more!

This book check out you must! Learn everything there is to know about the smallest-yet-mightiest Jedi in The Yoda Chronicles, a LEGO Star Wars history illustrated with all the minifigs in the Star Wars universe. Discover how Yoda became a Jedi, who his friends and foes are, and see him lift a LEGO X-Wing fighter just like he does in The Empire Strikes Back.

We also have lots of great LEGO fiction, including Easy Readers, chapter books, and even The LEGO Movie Official Handbook, Essential Guide, Junior Novel and movie soundtrack! And be sure to check our calendar for our traveling Let There Be Legos program, which could be coming to a SCLD library near you in 2014!
