Need to pump up your college resume? Or fill a requirement for graduation? Or perhaps you just want a fulfilling volunteer opportunity? Consider giving your time to the Spokane County Library District. New in 2014, the North Spokane and Spokane Valley libraries are taking applications for teen volunteers between the ages of 15-19. On a quarterly basis, we will take applications, provide orientation, and set volunteer schedules.

Examples of some volunteer activities are:

  • Helping with children’s programs (set-up, take-down, assistance with activities)
  • Docents (fancy words for knowledgeable tour guide) for the North Spokane Library’s Hope in Hard Times exhibit
  • Filming and editing videos
  • Sharing an expertise, talent or skill with others through online courses
  • Writing content for our website (like blogs and book reviews)
  • Serving on a teen advisory board

The current volunteer quarter will run March through May with a new one starting in June. Applications will be accepted until Friday, February 7 2014.

Orientation is mandatory and will be offered:

Wednesday, Feb 12 at 5:30-6:30pm

Thursday, Feb 13 at 6:30-7:30pm
