If tax season is stressing you out, you can reduce your anxiety with Free AARP Tax Aide at the library.
Last year, over 2,200 people filed their taxes with the help of AARP Tax Aide volunteers. This year, you could be one of them.
From February 1 through April 14, you can get help at four of our libraries: Argonne, Cheney, Moran Prairie, and Spokane Valley.
At Argonne and Cheney Libraries, appointments are needed and can be made through Washington Trust Bank by calling 509.353.4851.
At Moran Prairie and Spokane Valley Libraries, help is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you are able, we recommend making an appointment at Argonne or Cheney Library to save you some wait time. Spokane Valley or Moran Prairie Library, which do not have appointments, are especially busy in February and April.
You’ll need to bring a few things, including your 2019 tax-related documents, valid photo ID, and Social Security cards for yourself and all household members. It is also recommended that you bring your 2018 tax return for reference. If you know which tax forms you’ll need, you can download and print them from www.irs.gov.
