Spokane County Commissioners are now accepting applications for a Spokane County Library District Board of Trustees position. The position is currently open.

Applications are being accepted until July 12, 2021.

Trustee Ami Calvert, whose term was scheduled to end December 31, 2024, is moving out of the District’s service area and, therefore, has had to vacate her seat. A requirement of the position is being a resident of the Library District’s service area.

Spokane County Library District operates separately from Spokane County and has its own tax base, but state law mandates that the County Commissioners appoint all members of the Board of Trustees, which acts as the governing board for the District. Trustees are unpaid volunteers and serve five-year terms.
