The online reading challenge has begun for the Spokane Is Reading Diverse Voices booklist.
As a co-sponsor of Spokane Is Reading, we always look forward to the annual book selection and author visit in the fall. So when Spokane Is Reading had to switch gears to do something different for 2020, we couldn’t be more excited about what they came up with—not just one book for the year, but 15 titles to read from their Diverse Voices booklist!
We’ve created an online reading challenge for all 15 books. Some are fiction, some are nonfiction, and you’ll even find a graphic novel and a young adult title on the list—all from writers whose work weaves the rich tapestry that is the American experience.
Spokane Is Reading Diverse Voices booklist for 2020:
If you’ve already read a title or several on this list, then you can jump into our online reading challenge running. The challenge continues through the end of the year (December 31), giving you time to read and discover these voices.
Using our online tracker, Beanstack, you can earn badges for every Diverse Voices title you read. There’s even a badge for reviewing five of the titles on the list. Adults who finish reading 5 of the 15 books will be entered into a drawing to receive a set of 3 of the titles on the Diverse Voices recommended reading list. There will be 10 drawings for a set of 3 titles on December 31, 2020.
Sign up for the challenge today at scld.beanstack.org. If you’ve already registered for a previous reading challenge, you can log in to start to the Diverse Voices challenge.
To get to reading, place a hold on any of these titles in our online catalog, and pick them up using our Curbside Pickup service once you’ve been notified that your holds are available. You’ll also find eBook and audiobook versions, when available, of these titles in our OverDrive collection.
