SUMMER READING BUDDY PROGRAM

NORTH SPOKANE, OTIS ORCHARDS, SPOKANE VALLEY
July 9–August 3, 2018

Kids can practice reading with a Summer Reading Buddy at the library!

Reading keeps the minds of young readers sharp over the long summer break. Avoid “summer slide”—when kids forget what they learned in school over the summer months—by keeping their brains engaged.

The Summer Reading Buddy program is for kids entering grades 1–5, who want weekly reading practice for 60 minutes with a Reading Buddy. The program runs for 4 weeks at three libraries: North Spokane, Otis Orchards, and Spokane Valley.

Registration is required for this program. To participate, please register online by June 25, 2018, at www.scld.org/summer-reading-buddy-2018.

LOOKING TO VOLUNTEER?

We’re looking for teens and adults who love reading and spending time with children to join our team of Summer Reading Buddies. Training is provided by the library.
