Posted on August 12, 2020 at 6:00 am

Calling all junior scientists, nature explorers & challenge seekers!

You can participate in three programs with the Spokane County EnviroKids’ Club.

  • Discover how you can help clean the air!
  • Do experiments to see what you should and shouldn’t flush down the toilet!
  • Explore the wiggly, wonderful world of worms and how they help a garden grow!

Don’t miss out! Sign up for all three programs today.

For these programs, we’ve partnered with Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency, Spokane County Water Resource Center, and Spokane Regional Solid Waste System.

For each of the following programs, registration is required, including an email to receive login information. Registration closes at 5pm on Sunday, August 23, for all three programs.

EnviroKids’ Club: To Flush or Not to Flush?

Learn what happens to the water you flush and watch a demonstration to see what can and cannot be flushed, provided by Spokane County Water Resource Center. Only a few items are truly flushable—yet many of us flush all sorts of things! Ages 8+ & their families

To follow along with the demonstration, gather these items:

  • Deep bowl or empty tennis ball container with lid (filled half way with water)
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Facial tissue, paper towel, toilet paper, cotton balls, cotton swabs, “flushable” baby wipe, and any other items you’ve flushed before

Registration is required, and you’ll need to provide an email to receive login information.
