December brings helpful and cheerful online programs! Learn about caring for holiday flowers, creating ornaments, making digital art and watercolor paintings, finding Medicare cost savings, playing holiday movie trivia, and reading during a special Winter Camp Read-a-Rama.

Resident Artist: Introduction to Digital Art

Drawing and illustration have evolved in many ways over recent years. With advancements in technology, creating art has gone from strictly pen and paper to include a screen and mouse or stylus. In this lecture, resident artist Allison Hawes goes over everything you need to get started creating art digitally, including different hardware options, drawing programs, and online resources available to take your creativity and passion for art into the digital landscape. No supplies are needed. Just bring any questions you might have. Ages 12+

Resident Artist: Watercolor Values Landscape

Putting brush to paper when you’ve never painted before can be a little intimidating, especially with so many colors to choose from. In this workshop, we take the fear out of the watercolor painting when we use a single color to create a simple winter landscape painting. Resident artist Allison Hawes will walk you through the basics of painting watercolors and jumpstart your journey into this beautiful medium! Winter Camp Read-a-Rama

Our online camp has themes based on books that spark the imagination, plus related camp activities, crafts, music, games, and more! Make reading part of your winter break and set yourself up for success in the new year. Camp materials will be available for pick up at select libraries for all registered participants. Grades 2–5
