Hike the Day Away

Posted on March 5, 2014 at 6:00 am

ED_Post_DayHike2Spring is on her way and we’re itching to get outside and enjoy some adventures in the beautiful place we’re lucky enough to live in. One of the best ways to get knee-deep in nature is to take advantage of the wonderful day hikes available in our region.

Whether you’re a veteran hiker looking for some new routes, looking to hit the trail for the first time, or somewhere in between, you won’t want to miss connecting with Rich Landers. Rich is the author of 100 Hikes in the Inland Northwest, co-author of Day Hiking Eastern Washington, and outdoor editor for the Spokesman-Review, and he’ll reveal time-honored tips from the trails and a taste of some of the best hikes in our region.

Rich will share some of his favorite hikes from his books, show you how to pack lighter and smarter, as well as give you the tools to troubleshoot issues that might come up, from lightening to wolves.

We know you’ll leave ready to hit the trail.

Will the book, Day Hiking in Eastern WA be for sale?

Would you consider coming to Cheney?

Consider Cheney – or Moran Prairie – or making it a podcast! Thanks for the programs.

I am very interested in starting hiking. Actually never done it. That being said my question is if you will actually be coming to the Downtown branch. For those of us that bus it would be convenient. (Mind you the “bus it” part also has its’ drawbacks to hiking)
