Families, kids, tweens, and teens have many opportunities to create and discover something new with these 28 different library programs in March.
Kids of all ages and families can enjoy building with foam blocks or LEGO bricks, learning how to create a set for videos and photography out of cardboard, and listening to live Irish music.
Teens can explore using a green screen to create video magic, creating twisted wire sculptures, making new things during Maker Open Hours at The Lab, and working on a project as part of the Teen Leadership Council.
Our tweens programs for kids ages 8–12 give you the chance to explore STEM concepts such as light and shadow, flight, roller coasters, and electric circuits. You can also create a Koinobori Carp Windsock, a diorama with marshmallow peeps, and stop-motion animation with LEGO.
For elementary-aged kids, programs include Take It Apart, where kids and adults can deconstruct machines and devices to see how they work, and the Building with Books: LEGO Challenge, where you hear a story and then build something from it.
At storytimes, our youngest library visitors and their caregivers and families can hear and interact with wonderful stories, sing songs, and practice fingerplays as well.
