We’re trying something new and invite you to try it with us!
Learning Circles offer the convenience of an online class and the accountability of a classroom setting—the best of both worlds.
If you’ve started an online course and didn’t finish. . .
If you enjoy meeting others who are passionate about your interests. . .
If you learn best in an interactive environment. . .
Then Learning Circles may be the just-right learning environment for you!
All Learning Circles will have a facilitator, online content, the tools needed to learn and practice new skills, and a learning environment where participants both teach and learn, act and observe, and speak and listen to each other.
Learning Circles are available through a partnership with Peer to Peer University (p2pu.org).
Learning Circle: 3D Printing
Learn how to use Tinkercad software to design and manipulate 3D images. You’ll get to import existing shapes into the software and modify them to create a design that’s uniquely yours. At the end of the 4-week learning circle, you’ll be able to take home at least one of your designs printed on the library’s 3D printer. Registration is required.
Thursdays, Oct 3–24, 6–8pm
Learning Circle: Fiction Writing
Discover the ins and outs of fiction writing, including writing for different genres, developing characters, building your story’s world, constructing plot, creating descriptions, crafting dialogue and action, and swapping hats at the revision stage. Registration is required.
Wednesdays, Oct 30–Dec 18, 6–8pm
Learning Circle: Personal Finance & Budgeting
Create a spending and savings plan tailored to your life, using Smart about Money’s “Money Basics” tool. Learn about credit and debt, investment basics, and discuss types of insurance and which ones you may need. Registration* is required.

*Registration at www.p2pu.org/scld will become available at least 30 days before this class begins.
