ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM

This fall, we’re hosting four local artists in residence at The Lab at North Spokane Library. Each month, the artist in residence provides hands-on learning opportunities for community participation. During each residency, the artist also creates art in The Lab. Library members and the public are encouraged to stop by each month to meet each artist and see displays of their artwork. You can have a conversation each month with the artist in residence about the artist’s process, the artwork currently under creation, and art in general while the artist works.

MAKAYLA MIRACLE: SEPTEMBER ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

Makayla Miracle is a sculptor and costume maker hailing from Spokane. She works with a wide range of media, including plaster, fabric, found objects, and wood, to create 3D artwork and costumes. Makayla currently attends Central Washington University and has an Associate of Fine Arts degree from Spokane Falls Community College. Her work has been seen in the following group exhibitions: A Spotlight on the Arts at the Seattle Art Museum, in Seattle; Punch Projects: Barnstorm at Bluestone Garage, in Ellensburg; and Explorations XIV at the Chase Gallery in Spokane.
