The Spokane County Library District Board of Trustees announces the selection of Patrick Roewe as the new Executive Director of the Library District.

Roewe will step into the position when current Director, Nancy Ledeboer, retires on September 1, 2017. Roewe is currently the Deputy Director and has been with the District for 10 years.

“The board members were unanimous that Patrick [Roewe] is more than ready for the job. We’re sorry to lose Nancy [Ledeboer] but confident that Patrick will advance us in a positive way,” said Board Chair John Craig.

Roewe has spent the last few years developing and leading the Library District in strategic planning, including participating as one of only ten libraries selected nationwide in the American Library Association’s Libraries Transforming Communities initiative. He also led the project team for The BookEnd, the District’s new boutique library located in the Spokane Valley Mall.

“Patrick will keep us on track without a break in continuity and moving forward,” said Board Member Wes Teterud.

Roewe holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Gonzaga University.
