North Spokane Library hosts Camp Read-a-Rama for kids

Posted on May 21, 2019 at 6:00 am

This summer, kids can make reading part of summer fun and set themselves up for success in the coming school year.

Camp Read-a-Rama has a theme each week based on a children’s book for all camp activities, crafts, music, and games. This weekly half-day camp is for kids ages 6–11.

As part of the Spokane Public Schools Summer Meals programs, morning snack is provided, and the library also provides lunch through the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program. Camp Read-a-Rama is in partnership with Excelerate Success and Americorps VISTA.

Parents and guardians can sign up their kids for camp on a weekly basis. The themes of Food, STEM, and Space repeat and cover the same books, crafts, and activities.

Registration and signed permission form are required. Registration opens 30 days before each week of camp.
