Reading is a great way to exercise your brain cells. For kids, reading helps them retain learning, which is especially helpful over the summer months.

No matter your age, reading can be enjoyable, informative, and even a way to grow closer to family and friends when you read together.

Reach your reading goals this summer by tracking your reading, sharing book reviews, and learning new things during our Online Summer Reading Challenge with Beanstack.

Our librarians have created activities that you can complete on your own or as a family over the summer. Challenges are grouped into four age ranges, so you can work on activities geared for you: early learners, elementary age, teens, and adults.

Activities and challenges you can complete in the online tracker include:

  • Reading milestones
  • Exploring the outdoors and visiting local landmarks
  • Creating art and writing a story
  • Trying a new exercise routine and donating blood
  • Discovering your family history and getting your finances in shape

You can challenge yourself to do all of this and more for our Online Summer Reading Challenge.

Sign up today at scld.beanstack.org. If you’ve registered before for a reading challenge, you can log in to jump into the new summer challenges.

Don’t forget to sign up for emailed book recommendations that are tailored to your preferences.

For anyone who wants to track their reading on paper, we’ve got you covered. Here’s our printable reading log.
