News_Post_sparetoysDo you have broken, busted, or just plain worn out toys littering the nooks and crannies of your house? We’d love to take those sad toys off your hands and give them a new life during an upcoming program this summer.

For several summers now, we’ve set our inner scientists free as we repurposed all those toys that would go to waste into interesting new creations. This summer we’re expanding our FrankenToys program so that it is offered at 9 libraries. We can’t wait to see what fantastic creations are made, but we need to build up our stockpile of toys and toy parts.

As you tackle your spring cleaning this year, keep us in mind for any toys you’re not using any more. Perhaps your pets have chewed on the arms or legs of a favorite doll. While we don’t want the slimy parts, we’re happy to take the rest of the doll! You may find some fast food toys that are no longer of interest in your house –we’ll take them! Games or puzzles missing some pieces? Don’t throw them away –donate them! Donations will be accepted at all Spokane County libraries from now until June 30th.
