Additional details:

The fall art show focuses on motifs found in the novel One Two Three, by Laurie Frankel, the 2026 selection for Spokane Is Reading. These motifs include our environment, climate change, and polluted or poisoned natural resources.

Stop by the library to pick up a small wooden circle to use for your art canvas. Wooden circles are provided while supplies last.

When you’ve finished creating your art, return it to the library before the deadline. The library will only display art created on the supplied wooden circle for this art show.

NOTE: Artwork must be appropriate for all ages.

Fall Community Art Show: Art & Our Environment

For all ages

Come to the library to view a showcase of artwork by local artists of all ages. This year’s show focuses on motifs found in the novel One Two Three, by Laurie Frankel, the 2026 selection for Spokane Is Reading. These motifs include our environment, climate change, and polluted or poisoned natural resources.

Each library displays art created by artists from the community, as space allows.

Terms & Conditions

By submitting art to the Fall Community Art Show hosted by Spokane County Library District (SCLD), you agree to the following…  

… Art must be turned in at the library by September 30, 2026, to be included in the art show displays in library.

… You understand that only one (1) submission per person will be included in the art show, and to be included, each submission must be accompanied by an artist information sheet for display. 

… You understand that all submitted artistic content must meet community standards for sharing to a family-friendly art show. Inappropriate content will not be included.  

… You attest that you are submitting your original work and are not infringing upon the copyright of another person or entity.

… You grant SCLD the right to create a digital image of your artwork.

… You grant SCLD the right to share freely the digital image of your artwork on its website, through social media channels, and in promotions of library programs for up to one year from the date of the art show premiere to which it was submitted.

… You retain copyright of your artwork, including all digital images created by SCLD.

… You acknowledge that you will not receive compensation for participation in the art show and that the art show is provided free of charge to all who wish to view it.

… You acknowledge that SCLD reserves the right to refuse to include submissions in the art show for any reason, which may include but is not limited to inappropriate content and lack of information or communication about the artwork.

…You grant SCLD the right to discard/recycle your artwork if you or a designee has not picked it up from the library by the end of the designated pickup timeframe. Participants may pick up their art from the library where they submitted it November 2–10, 2026. Any art left in libraries after November 10, 2026, will be discarded or recycled.
