Study Buddy Program

What is the Study Buddy Program?

Students can get virtual homework help and resources from library volunteers.

The Study Buddy Program offers students in grades 2–5 help and support for reading, language arts, and math in an online and safe environment. This program is provided at no cost.

Students can log on to our online platform during the Study Buddy Homework Help session. They will then be matched up with a Study Buddy volunteer and moved into an online breakout room to work on assignments and lessons.

What materials do students need for a Study Buddy session?

Students should come prepared with either textbooks, instructions, or reading assignments that they need to complete or need help with understanding. Printed and online assignments can be shared with their Study Buddy from the student’s screen.

Who are Study Buddy volunteers?

These tutors are volunteers from our community. Each Study Buddy has:

  • Passed a Washington State background check
  • Attended a program orientation for training

How and when can students connect with a Study Buddy?

Students will need to use a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access.

Once connected using the button below, the student will arrive in an online waiting room and then be admitted to the greeter’s lobby shortly after. A greeter will ask about the student’s needs for homework help and connect them with a Study Buddy volunteer within the online platform.
