About the Space
The Lab is a classroom as well as a maker space within North Spokane Library devoted to engaging, hands-on learning opportunities.
Equipment available in The Lab includes:
- Glowforge laser printer (cutting, engraving, scoring)
- Cricut electronic cutting machine
- Sewing machine
- Digital media transfer equipment (Project Memory)
- Other available equipment and tools

For teens & adults
Stop in to ask questions, receive instruction, and work on your creative projects using our equipment. Equipment and technology in The Lab are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Lab hosts a wide variety of hands-on programs, including STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) programs for kids and families, art classes, and DIY workshops.
Learn How to Use the Glowforge
For teens 16+ & adults
Our Glowforge 3D laser printer is available for public use to create laser-crafted items and works of art. Learn how to select materials, create design files, operate the Glowforge, and do it all safely.
Sample Virtual Reality
Adults, teens & kids ages 8+
The Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality (VR) headset provides a variety of experiences. With our VR apps, you can get up close with nature, wander the universe, ride a roller coaster, defuse a bomb, get into the beat, and more.
Users 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session. All attendees must sign a waiver prior to use.
