In anticipation: Romances to read in 2018

As we start a new year, I look forward to publishers announcing the release dates for new books. Whether it’s another installment in a favorite series or a second novel from a 2017 debut author, each month in the new year is a fresh opportunity to get my hands on a brand new book. Now you can too! Read each novel in one sitting, or linger over the pages—it’s up to you.

Here are the ones I’m most looking forward to in 2018.

End Game by Lisa Renee Jones

Series: Dirty Money #4
Release Date: January 2

When it comes to romantic suspense there’s no one I enjoy more than Lisa Renee Jones, and her Dirty Money series delivers: organized crime, family drama, and two people who seem fated to be together despite the overwhelming odds against it. What more could you ask for? In this series finale, both lead characters must fight to keep their hard-won shot at love.

Reed by Sawyer Bennett

Series: Cold Fury Hockey #10
Release Date: February 6

I will never get enough of the guys of the Carolina Cold Fury. So you can imagine how excited I am to catch up with them again in this tenth installment in the series. Bennett is a great storyteller who will win you over from first read—hockey fan or not. Each romance in the series seems to only get sweeter (and the guys more irresistible). Let’s put it this way: I’m eager to get to know Reed.

Hot and Badgered by Shelly Laurenston

Series: Honey Badgers #1
Release Date: March 27

Confession: I’ve had Shelly Laurenston’s The Unleashing (2015) on my nightstand waiting to be read for months. She comes very highly recommended, and though paranormal romance isn’t my first choice, I’ve been told this book is too good to miss.  If you’re already a Laurenston fan, you’ll be happy to know that Hot and Badgered is the first in a brand new series set within the same world as her Call of Crows series. Only this time the series will follow shapeshifters.

Chaser by Kylie Scott

Series: Dive Bar #3
Release Date: April 19

I’ve mentioned Kylie Scott’s work in a few of my previous blog posts about romance, and that’s because she’s just plain awesome. Not only does she write unforgettable characters, but all of her novels are set somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. In Chaser, we rejoin the unforgettable crew of The Dive Bar in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. By the end I’m sure you’ll once again be wishing that you really could step through the doors of The Dive Bar.

I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting

Release Date: May 29

Ever since reading 2014’s Clipped Wings, I have been a huge fan of Helena Hunting. She writes with humor and just the right amount of heat. She also knows just how to break your heart and then put it back together again. In her upcoming release I Flipping Love You, Hunting takes us into the world of house flipping where two rivals vie for the same prime real estate. Sparks are sure to fly in this one, and I can’t wait.
