Overdue Fines Poll

We want to hear from you! Spokane County Library District is considering eliminating overdue fines and would like your opinion.

Currently, overdue fines are $0.20 per item per day, up to $7 per item. Once an item is 4 weeks overdue, it is considered lost, and the full amount to replace the item is billed to the borrower.

If fines are eliminated, borrowers will not be charged a fine until the item is 2 weeks overdue. After 2 weeks, borrowers will be charged the full price to replace the item.
