The STCU Studio is an audio-visual space that includes equipment, technology, and editing capabilities for your creative projects. The STCU Studio includes a control room and well-equipped recording space where you can explore your creative ideas for video recording, photography, podcasts, and sound production.
The STCU Studio is made possible by the generous support of STCU.
The STCU Studio hosts a variety of library programs for adults, teens, and tweens that show how to use our audio-visual equipment and editing software, often with an interesting project to try out.
We’ve offered video boot camps, podcast workshops, stop-motion animation sessions, variety-sketch show productions, commercial/promotional creations, and more.
You can borrow video and photography equipment from the library.
Our Library of Things collection includes a DSLR camera, a video camera, and even a GoPro that you can check out to use at home or on the go.
You can learn how to check things out on the Library of Things web page.
The STCU Studio is available for independent use. Before that, you’ll need to complete a Studio Orientation session. During your orientation to The STCU Studio, a library employee provides a tour and introduction to the space and equipment, including video cameras, lights, sound equipment, and editing software.
If you’ve already completed orientation, you can book a one-on-one session to get additional assistance with the technology and equipment in the space.
Along with orientations and one-on-one help with audio-visual technology, you can book a session to use Project Memory digitization equipment.
Sessions in The STCU Studio can accommodate up to five people. Youth under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
