3D Printing: Cookie Cutters

Learn how to create your very own unique cookie cutter using a 3D printer. Pick an existing design, draw your own, or trace an image and turn it into a one-of-a-kind cookie cutter. No 3D printer experience necessary. Printed cookie cutters will be ready one week after the event.

Leatherworking Basics

—Ages 16 and up—

Stan McConnell will lead a two-and-a-half hour class which will give students an opportunity to make four coasters to take home. Aspiring leatherworkers will learn how to fasten suede and leather together, sand, saddle soap, burnish, stamp, monogram, and seal.

Create_Page_Dance

Waltz! Salsa! Swing! {Six-week series}

—Ages 14 and up—

Marianna di Lorenzo, of Simply Dance Studio, presents a six-week course, featuring three of the most popular dances known to the social dance floor. Each dance will be taught over a two-week interval, starting with one of the most popular dances in the world; the Salsa, followed by America’s most well-known dance; the East Coast Swing, and ending with the oldest, most elegant, and best surviving dance in the ballroom; the American Waltz!

Each class will include an hour of basics and the secrets of a successful dance partnership, combined with the patterns, style, musicality and particulars of the dance being featured. Partner recommended, but not necessary.

Please wear comfortable clothes to move in and shoes that aren’t too cumbersome or bulky, ex: a man’s dress shoe, or a lady’s low pump or loafer type shoe.

Drawing Fundamentals {Six-week series}

Learn the basics of drawing with an artist from The Spokane Art School. This series of classes explores the uses of line, shape, texture, value, and form, using a variety of materials. Learn to draw what you see from still life and photographs and compose interesting pictures using design principles. An introduction to color with pastels completes the course. Big Bing Theory

—All Ages—

The Big Bing Theory (BBT) is Gonzaga’s student run, co-ed a cappella group. The group was founded in 1998 by Erica Heinz. Ever since then, BBT has been singing around Gonzaga’s campus and around Spokane. The group tours through the hometowns of its members during the summer and records a studio album every other year. This year (2014–15) BBT is especially excited to reach out more to the Spokane Community to share their talent and enthusiasm!
