Spokane County Library District is now offering family passes to Cat Tales Wildlife Center. This family-friendly opportunity for in-district residents provides free admission to this unique wildlife rescue and education center.
Cat Tales Wildlife Center is dedicated to caring for animals that need a safe, permanent home. More than a place to observe wildlife, the center is a refuge for big cats, smaller mammals, and other species that cannot return to the wild. Every animal resident has a story, often one of rescue or rehoming, giving visitors a meaningful look at conservation, animal care, and the lives of the animals they encounter.
This partnership strengthens community access to wildlife education and helps families experience one of the region’s standout conservation centers. Cat Tales Wildlife Center has generously donated these family passes to SCLD for customer use.
SCLD will have two Cat Tales Wildlife Center Family Passes available to library customers each day when the center is open. Passes can only be used on the specific date selected at the time of pass reservation. Each pass offers one-day admission for up to two adults and four children from the same household. Children age 4 and younger and seniors age 65 and older are always admitted free.
To participate, library customers must have a permanent, in-district SCLD library card in good standing. Residents of Liberty Lake and the city of Spokane are not in-district for this program.
Like other family passes, reservations can be made online up to 60 days in advance, giving households plenty of time to plan their visit. The person reserving the pass must also be the one using it. You will need to present both the printed pass and a matching photo ID for entry.
Each household may reserve a family pass up to two times per year, with reservations spaced at least 30 days apart.
Cat Tales Wildlife Center’s open hours change with the seasons, so checking the hours before going to the center is important. In November, the center is open Thursday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm (excluding holidays), with winter bringing fewer open days and shorter hours. We recommend that you call ahead to get updates on open hours. The last entry time is 30 minutes before closing to ensure visitors have time to explore comfortably.

SCLD is collaborating with Cat Tales Wildlife Center on new STEM Explorer Kits, featuring hands-on activities and themed books to introduce youth and families to real-world aspects of zookeeping.
Look for the first of these new kits in December, which will expand the library’s growing collection of educational resources for kids and families.
