Spokane Valley Library is home to The STCU Studio, an audio-visual space that includes equipment, technology, and editing capabilities for your creative projects.
The space includes a control room and well-equipped recording space where you can explore your creative ideas for video recording, photography, podcasts, and sound production and is made possible by the generous support of STCU.
Cameras, microphones, lights, greenscreen, audio mixer, video editing software—try them all! You can explore this technology during a library program or during a one-on-one session.
This creative audio-visual space is generously funded by STCU.
Workshops & Programs
The STCU Studio hosts a variety of library programs for adults, teens, and tweens that show how to use our audio-visual equipment and editing software, often with an interesting project to try out.
Some of our workshop offerings include:
Orientation & One-on-One Sessions
Because much of the technology in The STCU Studio is professional grade, learning how to use it can have a bit of a higher degree of difficulty.
So, everyone who wants to use the space needs to complete a Studio Orientation. During your orientation to The STCU Studio, staff provide a tour and introduction to the space and equipment, including video cameras, lights, sound equipment, and editing software.
Simply book a session to get started. After orientation, you will be able to reserve The STCU Studio for your creative projects.
Also, anyone who has completed orientation can always book another one-on-one session to get additional assistance with the technology in The STCU Studio. The more practice and confidence you have using the technology, the more you can explore your creative ideas!

Library Out Loud: SCLD is a podcast where we talk about all the things you can do and find at the library. We chat with community partners, authors, our librarians, and others in the community.
Our topics often cover how our libraries and community partners can help the public and communities we serve.
We talk about books and other materials you can borrow, upcoming events you can attend, free services you can get at our libraries and from our partners, and during “Librarians Answer,” we discuss questions that our customers ask us.
Library Out Loud: SCLD is available in both audio and video formats. You can watch and listen on our Podcast web page or the following platforms:
