Book a Librarian

How Book a Librarian Works

Get personalized help from library staff—available in person, by phone, and via online video session.

For your Book-a-Librarian request, we match you up with a staff person who has specialized knowledge in the topic or area of interest.

Popular topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Help applying for unemployment benefits, including creating a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account
  • Help finding educational resources for kids learning at home
  • Assistance setting up an email account
  • Help downloading eBooks or audiobooks
  • Help placing hold on library materials
  • Book recommendations
  • Training for using the Glowforge 3D laser printer (North Spokane Library)
  • Training for using the equipment and resources in The STCU Studio (Spokane Valley Library)

During your one-on-one appointment, that staff person will spend about 30–45 minutes going over the topic or question you have, showing you the best resources available through our library and elsewhere, and helping you learn how to continue to find and use those resources once your appointment is over.

You can schedule a Book-a-Librarian appointment by submitting the following form or by calling your local library.

We will notify you when your appointment has been scheduled. Please allow up to three business days for a response.
