How Book a Librarian Works

Get personalized help from library staff—available in person, by phone, and via an online video session.

For your Book-a-Librarian request, we match you with a staff person who has specialized knowledge in the topic or area of interest.

Popular topics include, but are not limited to:

• Setting up an email account
• Downloading eBooks or audiobooks
• Placing holds on library materials
• Creating a business plan
• Putting together marketing mailing lists and sales leads
• Finding demographic data for your business
• Locating educational resources for homeschool learning
• Training to use the Glowforge 3D laser printer (North Spokane) or the recording equipment in The STCU Studio (Spokane Valley)

During your one-on-one appointment, library staff will spend 30–45 minutes going over the topic or question you have, showing you the best resources available through the library and elsewhere, and helping you learn how to continue to find and use those resources once your appointment is over.
