Other creative activities you can drop in or sign up for include Making Pressed Meadow Flowers, Cookie Decorating, Fly Tying for Beginners (adults & teens 16+), and Collaborative Community Painting. The Lands Council leads a Tree Identification Walk in the Dishman Hills Natural Area and shares the fundamentals of determining tree species. Explore the beauty of nature and help as a citizen scientist during the Medical Lake Geology Walk & Water Sampling (adults, teens & tweens).

And if your harvest of fruit and vegetables is overflowing, bring your extras to the Produce Swap at Moran Prairie and Cheney Libraries, and take home something different from another garden.

During the DSHS Mobile Community Services Visit to Deer Park Library, you can ask questions, submit a new application, and see about renewing benefits and making changes for active cases. Available services during the CHAS Mobile Clinic at Spokane Valley Library include medication prescription refills, wound care, treatment of acute injury and illness, and referrals for primary care/specialist, lab draws, and flu and COVID vaccination.

The Homebuyer Education Seminar gives you the opportunity to explore all of the major aspects of the home-buying process in an unbiased format and earn a certification of completion, which can be used to apply for down-payment assistance.

The Online Summer Reading Challenge wraps up at the end of August, so now is the time to start logging your reading minutes in Beanstack. When you complete the challenge by reading 600 minutes, you’ll automatically be entered in the prize drawing for your age group.
