What is Parkside Books?

Parkside Books, located at Liberty Lake Regional Park, is a seasonal lending location that offers a diverse collection of books for all ages that anyone can borrow to read.

Inside the Liberty Lake Regional Park Business Office (3707 S Zephyr Rd, Liberty Lake), Parkside Books serves those visiting the Spokane County park as well as the campground. The hours are:

APRIL–OCTOBER
Open Daily
9am–6pm

You can discover great reads during your visit!

Read with the family while having a picnic. Enjoy a book while lounging on the beach. If you’re at the campground on a day with less-than-ideal weather, relax with a book in your tent or RV.

We’d love to see what books you find at Parkside Books! Share any photos on Instagram using #parksidebooks, and tag us @spokanecountylibrary.

This collaborative project has been brought to you by Spokane County Parks, Recreation & Golf and Spokane County Library District (SCLD).

How does it work?

Parkside Books operates on the honor system, and no library card is needed to borrow books. You simply add your information on the borrower log sheet.

To return books, you can return the books to Parkside Books during open hours or bring them to any SCLD location.

More about Parkside Books

The collaborative Parkside Books project came together as a fiscally responsible endeavor to take an under-used space at the county park and fill it with books that are ready to be removed from other library shelves around the county to make room for a crop of new books.

So, within the Liberty Lake Regional Park Business Office, you’ll find shelves of best-selling fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, graphic novels, and more.

We hope you stop into Parkside Books on your next visit to the park and enjoy a great read!
