Nonprofit organizations and individuals have direct access to the useful digital resource Candid while visiting any of our libraries.
Candid is the most comprehensive source of nonprofit information, combining decades of trusted data from Foundation Directory and GuideStar. Both resources have been merged into Candid, providing you with access to comprehensive information on 1.9 million+ nonprofits and 304,000 grant makers to:
- Find organizations where you can donate, volunteer, or work
- Search for local resources and services, such as food banks or shelters
- Easily find and connect with funders for your nonprofit and projects
Candid’s search features will feel familiar to anyone who has done research with Foundation Directory and GuideStar. You can also find helpful articles and training from Candid to help you if you are just starting a nonprofit, learning how to write grant proposals, or searching for grant makers that might fund your projects.
Candid is available to library customers when they are visiting any of our libraries. You can access this resource from our in-library computer stations as well as with the library’s Wi-Fi internet on your own devices. Currently, access is limited to in-library use and is not available remotely.
