Pursuant to RCW 29A.32.280, Spokane County Library District (SCLD) is seeking volunteers to serve on a committee to present a case against SCLD’s levy ballot proposition appearing on November 3, 2026, General Election ballot. Committee members will be required to prepare an “against” statement for the Spokane County Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
Committee members will be required to prepare arguments advocating voters’ rejection of the proposition by 1:00pm August 6, 2026. The committee will consist of up to three (3) members and serve without compensation. Committee members’ names and contact information will be published in the Spokane County Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
To qualify, applicants must be a resident of SCLD’s jurisdictional boundaries: unincorporated Spokane County and the affiliated cities and towns of Airway Heights, Cheney, Deer Park, Fairfield, Latah, Medical Lake, Millwood, Rockford, Spangle, Spokane Valley, and Waverly.
Residents of the City of Spokane and the City of Liberty Lake are not eligible.
Qualified applicants must be known to oppose the ballot measure to serve on the committee advocating rejection.
Committee appointments are scheduled for the SCLD Board of Trustees meeting on July 21, 2026. The first three (3) qualified applicants will be appointed to the committee in the order in which they are received.
