November is a great month to explore your imagination and creativity, to learn about the world, and to play games and discover new things. Check out these activities and programs from the library for early learners, kids and their families, and teens.

Free Afternoon Snack

Kids ages 1–18 can come to the following libraries for a free snack on these days and times, year-round.

Early Learners

Picture Book Chat takes a look at the best new books to read with early learners—great for parents, caregivers, and teachers. Young children and their caregivers can enjoy stories and activities to build early literacy skills, all while having fun, at our weekly Play & Learn Storytime programs.

Kids & Families

Our activities and programs for kids ages 5 and older plus their families provide engaged learning, enjoyable crafts and activities, and ways to explore creativity and critical thinking.

Our weekly after-school activities include Terrific Tuesdays at North Spokane, Wonder Wednesdays at Medical Lake, and STEAM-Themed Thursdays at Spokane Valley.

STEAM programs focused on science, technology, engineering, art, and math are always popular. We offer our monthly Homeschool Hodgepodge: STEAM Activities at Deer Park. At many of our libraries, you can drop in for LEGO Free Play, and you can Create Tin Foil Art at Cheney.

Explore the world and create an adventure with games, crafts, and activities during two programs at our libraries: Games & Crafts from Around the World and Choose Your Own Adventure: Crafts & Activities.

Tweens ages 8–12 can learn how to make their own short movie with LEGO mini figures during LEGO Stop-Motion Studio.

The holiday season is around the corner, and we have a two programs that may bring you jolly good times: 3D Printing Family Fun: Design a Gift (for kids ages 8+ & their adults) and Awkward Family Photos: Holiday Cringe Edition (all ages).

Teens

Explore our creative technology and your imagination during Maker Open Hours in The Lab (teens & adults) at North Spokane. See what you can make to decorate this holiday season during Glowforge: Holiday Ornaments (teens 16+ & adults).

Get creative and find new adventures during two monthly programs for teens ages 13–17: Teen STEAM: Ignite Your Imagination and Teen RPG Club: Arcane Adventures.
