Curbside pickup for holds is now available at all libraries, Monday–Saturday, 12–6pm on days when your library would normally be open. For the specific days for each library, please see below.

When you come to the library, look for the curbside pickup signs in the parking lot.

Please note, our libraries remain closed for all other services and programs at this time.

Curbside pickup of library holds is new to you and to us, and we greatly appreciate your understanding as we fine-tune this service. Be assured, we’re doing everything we can to make this process as safe and seamless as possible.

HOW TO PICKUP YOUR HOLDS

You can pick up holds at the library once you are notified by email, phone call, or postal mail that they are available.

  • Pull your vehicle into one of the designated curbside pickup parking spots at your library.
  • Call the curbside pickup number on the sign.
  • Have your library card number ready when you call.
  • Provide your name, library card number, and a description of your vehicle.
  • You may pick up items for family members if you have their library card number(s).
  • Please wait in your vehicle and be patient while staff check out your held items to you in our computer system.
  • Staff will place your bagged library materials on a cart and wheel them to the curbside for delivery as agreed to on the phone.
  • Please place any items you are returning in the library’s book drop located outside of the building. Staff who are delivering curbside holds will not be accepting returns.

Vehicle delivery options:

  • If your vehicle has a trunk, hatch, or side door and a 6-foot distance can be maintained, then staff will place your holds in your vehicle. Please stay in your vehicle during this process.
  • If your vehicle does not have a way for staff to safely place the materials inside while maintaining a 6-foot distance, then staff will place your bagged library materials on the curb next to your vehicle for you to retrieve or have you retrieve them directly from the cart.
  • If you are traveling to the library on foot, by bicycle or motorcycle, or by bus, you can call the phone number on the curbside pickup signs in the library’s parking lot and explain your situation. Library staff will discuss how they will bring out your holds and how you should pick your items up curbside.

No mobile phone or service? If cell phone service is spotty at your library or you don’t have a mobile phone, call the library before you’d like to pick them up and arrange a day and time for pick up.

Due to parking, staffing, and building configuration, curbside service will look a little different from library to library.

We ask that you please follow directions and have patience.

Those picking up holds are asked to quickly come and go.

MATERIALS AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP

At first, pickup service is only for holds that have been on the shelves since before we closed in March. After that, we will be processing holds that came in after our libraries closed.

You will not be able to browse the collection in person for now.

Please look for items in our online catalog. You can place holds through the online catalog or call your library for help with placing a hold. We will get items ready for you when they become available and notify you when they are ready for pickup.

Please note that materials in our Library of Things collection are not available for holds and check out at this time.

RETURNING LIBRARY MATERIALS

Please place any items you are returning in the library’s book drop located outside of the building. Staff who are delivering curbside holds will not be accepting returns.

If you are returning library materials that are too large for the exterior book drop, please call the library and discuss alternatives for returning those materials.
