Curbside pickup for holds is available at all libraries during library open hours. You can check library hours on our locations pages.

When you come to the library, look for the curbside pickup signs in the parking lot.

How to Pick Up Your Holds

You can pick up holds at the library once you are notified by email, phone call, or postal mail that they are available.

Holds are available for pick up during library open hours. You can check for library hours on our locations pages.

  • Pull your vehicle into one of the curbside pickup parking spots.
  • Have your library card number ready, and call the phone number on the sign.
  • Tell staff your name and library card number and let them know which parking spot you are in, what your vehicle looks like, or if you are on foot.
  • You may pick up items for family members if you have their library card number(s).
  • Please wait in your car and be patient while staff check out your held items to you.
  • Staff will bring your library materials out to your car or, if you are on foot, where you agreed to get them on the phone.

Delivery options:

  • Staff can hand you your materials at your car window or can place them in your vehicle’s trunk, hatch, or side door.
  • If you prefer a no-contact option, staff will place your library materials on the hood of your vehicle, if that is okay with you, on the curb next to your vehicle, or directly from a cart for you to retrieve.
  • We ask that you please follow directions and leave promptly once you’ve received your holds so that others can use the spaces for curbside pickup. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in helping to make curbside pickup a successful option for all.
  • If you are traveling to the library on foot, by bicycle or motorcycle, or by bus, you can call the phone number on the curbside pickup signs in the library’s parking lot and explain your situation. Library staff will discuss how they will bring out your holds and how you should pick your items up curbside.

No mobile phone or service? If cell phone service is spotty at your library or you don’t have a mobile phone, call the library before you’d like to pick them up and arrange a day and time for pick up.

Due to parking, staffing, and building configuration, curbside service will look a little different from library to library.

We ask that you please follow directions and leave promptly once you’ve received your holds so that others can use the spaces for curbside pickup. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in helping make curbside pickup a successful option for all.

Materials Available for Pickup

Books & other materials: You can look for items in our online catalog. To place holds, use the online catalog or call your library for help. We will get items ready for you when they become available and notify you when they are ready for pickup.

Mobile Printing: You can send print jobs to us and pick them up at one of our libraries. Visit our Mobile Printing web page to learn more and get started.

Please note that some items in our Library of Things collection may not be available for curbside pickup.

Returning Library Materials

Please place any items you are returning in the library’s book drop located outside of the building (at all hours) or inside the library (during open hours).

If you are returning library materials that are too large for the exterior book drop, you can return those materials inside the library during business hours.
