One Book, One Coast is a shared community reading program across the West Coast with over 190 libraries participating in Washington, Oregon, and California.
You’re invited to read the graphic memoir They Called Us Enemy and view the live, online author talk with author George Takei. The memoir recounts George’s childhood imprisonment in American incarceration camps during World War II.
This live, streaming event is presented by LA County Library and One Book, One Coast.

George Takei is best known for his portrayal of Mr. Sulu in the acclaimed television and film series Star Trek. Takei is an actor, New York Times bestselling author, and activist.
