The Four Wars of World War II
Historian Kenneth W. Estes examines World War II as four separate and distinct wars that culminate in a final world conflict.
About the presenter:
Kenneth W. Estes retired as a Lt. Col. from the US Marine Corps after 24 years of service. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and holds advanced degrees from Duke University and the University of Maryland. He has published several titles in military history.

Nov 4 Hitler’s War (1939-1941)
Hitler’s initial form of “diplomacy” produces not a limited war, but a replay of the 1914 war in the west.
Nov 18 The Russo-German War (1941-1945)
Hitler’s plan for a rapid campaign to defeat Russia and compel a British peace agreement results in a very different outcome.
Dec 2 The China War (1931-1941)
Japan seeks to establish control of China by stages of occupation and intimidation.
Dec 9 The Great Pacific War and World Conflict Arena (1941-1945)
Japan seizes the opportunity to advance into Southeast Asia, drawing the United States and the rest of the world into global conflict.

Fabulous jazz and swing music comes to the library! Two local bands, 5MOR and 6 Foot Swing, deliver high-energy classic music from the World War II era and take you on a nostalgic journey to a time when these exciting sounds filled living rooms and dance halls alike.
