SCLD Adds New Online Resource
Have you always wanted to learn a language? Are you trying to learn one now? If so, a new online interactive language learning resource—Livemocha—is now available through Spokane County Library District’s website.
The world’s largest online language learning community, Livemocha offers free online language courses in 38 languages including Russian, Spanish, and Mandarin to over 12 million members from over 190 countries. It also offers extensive ESL (English as a Second Language) support, including assistance from native speakers.
It’s easy to use. Just enter a valid SCLD library card number, choose a language from the drop-down menu and register with an email address and password to log in. And it’s accessible anywhere, 24/7. You can find it here or listed with our information databases under the Research tab.
Due to licensing restrictions, as with many other online resources, remote access to Livemocha is limited to District residents.
